AAAP 2007 24th Annual Education Meeting Pediatrics: What is Happening Outside the Business Office?
Boston, Massachusetts May 5-8, 2007
The AAAP is pleased to invite its members to the 24th Educational Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts. This "City Upon the Hill" founded in 1630, is home to a mix of people whose heritage is drawn from every corner of the globe. They have helped shape a city rich in history, architecture, culture, tradition and enthusiasm. See the Old State House.
Our meeting takes place at the Omni Parker House hotel. The Omni Parker House is America’s longest continuously operating luxury hotel since it opened its doors in 1855. Located across from Boston Common and at the foot of Beacon Hill, the Omni Parker House Hotel is the perfect blend of hospitality, historic splendor and modern comfort. The décor and hues are as rich as the stories that flow through this legendary place. Charles Dickens’ first American reading of the Christmas Carol was recited here and it is said that JFK proposed to Jackie at this site. A respite for actors, legendary authors and the well-to-do, this grand hotel has been a Boston cornerstone for more than 150 years. See the Omni Parker House Hotel Lobby.
This year we will be focusing on what goes on outside of the business office in Academic Pediatric Medicine. As leaders and administrative partners with the physicians we work with, it is critical that we understand more than how to follow human resource policies, prepare pro formas and review collection rates. We would like to provide an opportunity to all of you to learn more about external influences on healthcare that may involve politics of health care, applying operational improvement processes used in other industries to our delivery models, understanding ethical issues in caring for and conducting research that includes the pediatric population, and more.
AAAP Members and Non-Members. Members are also welcome to register guests for Sunday Brunch, Sunday’s reception, Monday’s Duck Tour, and the Monday Evening event. Fees are associated with attending each of these functions.
- Enhance your tool box for developing and retaining strong relationships in the work place that will make you a more effective leader.
